Kota Kinabalu: A 51-year-old trader was fined a total of RM960 or 30 days jail by the Sessions Court for selling 96 units of razor that were falsely branded as Gillette Nacet II.
Tay Chu Moi pleaded guilty before Judge Noor Hafizah Mohd Salim to selling or offering the fake yellow coloured Gillette Nacet II razors on May 18, 2020 at the New Sin Teck Hong premises in Donggongon in Penampang. The court ordered Tay to pay a fine of RM10 on each of the razors.
Tay changed her plea to guilty during pre-trial case management of her case. ....

Kota Kinabalu: A 69-year-old former lecturer was charged at the Sessions Court here Thursday with committing physical sexual offence against his eight-year-old step-granddaughter.
The man pleaded not guilty before Judge Noor Hafizah Mohd Salim to committing the offence between 2017 and 2019 in a house of a village in Penampang.
The accused was charged under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences against Children Act 2017 read with Section 16(1) of the same Act as he was in a relationship of trust with the child.

Section 14(a) of the Act carries a jail term of up to 20 years and liability of a fine on conviction while Section 16(1) of the same Act provides for a jail term of up to five years and whipping of not less than two strokes, if convicted. ....

Kota Kinabalu: Two companies, one of them a concessionaire, and two men were charged in the Sessions Court here separately under the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994.

The first company, Pembinaan Kekal Mewah Sdn Bhd, represented by its Director and Tang Yiew Kok, a project manager, pleaded not guilty before Judge Noor Hafizah Mohd Salim to the charge against them.
The charge stated that as employers, they allegedly failed to establish a secure traffic control management system at the entrance to the construction site resulting in an accident on one Edin Amir, a passport holder. The company and Tang were jointly accused of committing the offence which allegedly took place at 1.30pm on Feb 24 this year at KM20, Jalan Papar-Beaufort, Papar. ....
