NEGAUNEE The Negaunee Elks have announced Students of the Month for December. Nicholas Jacobetti, a senior at Negaunee High School, has been named the Negaunee Elks Student of the Month for December. Nicholas, the son of Duke and Lisa Jacobetti, enjoys practicing sports, listening to music, mountain biking, hiking, lifting weights/workouts, hanging out with friends and family, playing ping-pong, watching and attending NBA and NFL games and volunteering in the community. While attending NHS, Nicholas has received the NHS Sophomore English and Math Department Awards, NHS Junior Science Department Award, West Marquette County Excellence in Education Day – Outstanding Academic Achievement Award, and was named 2020 West-PAC Football Copper Division All Conference 1st Team Honorable Mention – Outside Linebacker. He is an active member of the Varsity Basketball, Football and Tennis teams; a member of the National Honor Society and Key Club. After graduation, Nicholas plans ....

(Photo courtesy of the Peninsula Arts Appreciation Council) NEGAUNEE Efforts to save the Historic Vista Theater are continuing as the Peninsula Arts Appreciation Council works toward winterizing the building before Christmas. PAAC announced on Thursday that the organization has been working with Carrier Construction and Services of Negaunee. The company will shore up the walls of the auditorium and construct enclosures to protect from the elements portions of the building that were unaffected by the roof collapse. Equipment to secure the walls will be rented at a discounted rate from Gundlach Champion, officials said. ....
