NETRAKONA, April 19, 2021 (BSS) – Cultivation of high yielding and hybrid varieties of Boro paddy is going on in full swing in the Haor areas of the district during the current season.
The Boro cultivators are expediting the Boro paddy harvesting process through using combined paddy harvesting machines, which were distributed to them by the government at subsidized prices, for protecting the Boro paddy lands from flash flood and other natural calamities.
District administration and Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) Netrakona are closely monitoring the Boro harvesting in the haor areas, which is popularly known as paddy-rich area of the country. ....

NETRAKONA, April 17, 2021 (BSS) – Cultivation of jute in the current Kharif-1 season is progressing fast in the district.
Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) office sources said, a target was fixed to cultivate jute on 4,930 hectors of land in the district with a plan to produce 43,987 bells of jute this season.
Of the total targeted land, 230 hectors of land would be brought under olitorious variety of jute, 820 hectors of land under capsularies variety of jute, 3450 hectors of land under Knaf variety of jute and 430 hectors of land would be brought under Mesta variety of jute.
Meanwhile, the jute cultivators could cultivate 2000 hectors of land under the jute cultivation in the ten upazilas of the district, deputy director of DAE Netrakona Habibur Rahman said, adding that if the weather condition remains favorable, the cultivators would be able to cultivate jute in the rest of the targeted lands withi ....

2400 farmers get incentives for Aus farming in Netrakona

NETRAKONA, April 14, 2021 (BSS) – A total of 2400 small and marginal farmers of the district were given agriculture incentives in terms of Aus seed and fertilizers by the government at free of cost for boosting Aus cultivation during the current Kharip-1 season.
Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) office sources here said the agriculture incentives were distributed among the farmers under the government’s agriculture incentive distribution program to inspire them to cultivate Aus paddy and boosting the crop’s production.
Each of the farmers got five kilograms of improved quality Aus seed, 20 kilograms of DAP fertilizer and 10 kilograms of MOP fertilizer, deputy director of DAE Netrakona Habibur Rahman said. ....
