Over 2,000 old-age pensioners added in Noida scheme for elderly in 2020-21

As many as 2,648 beneficiaries got added in Gautam Buddh Nagar for a monthly financial support extended by the Uttar Pradesh government under a pension scheme for the elderly, officials said.
Gautam Buddh Nagar Social Welfare Officer Shailendra Bahadur Singh said District Magistrate Suhas L Y recently approved addition of 652 more pensioners under the scheme.
Of these, 233 pensioners are in urban areas and 419 in rural areas. A total of 2,648 new pensioners have been added so far this financial year, Singh said.
The total number of old-age pension beneficiaries in the district is now more than 21,000. At the rate of Rs 500 per month, every quarter a sum of Rs 1,500 is transferred directly to the bank account of beneficiaries, he said. ....

Noida (Uttar Pradesh) [India], March 11 (ANI): A fire broke out in a music company office in Noida sector 7 on Thursday.
The blaze was first reported at 7:30 am. Four fire tenders were rushed to the spot and were able to control the fire by 10 am.
The incident took place on Thursday morning around 7:30 am after that four fire tenders reached the location and controlled the fire, said Field Security Officer (FSO) of NoidaSanjeev Kumar.
We have not yet started the assessment of loss, he added.
No casualty has been reported from the incident even after the blaze. The cause of the fire is unknown so far. (ANI) ....

Noida Authority takes over land possessed by Wave Group over pending dues

Noida: The Noida Authority on Wednesday said it has taken over possession of 1.08 lakh sq metre commercial land that was allotted to real estate developer Wave Group, over unpaid dues of about Rs 2,500 crore.
The group termed the action as high handed and illegal and added that it would take appropriate legal recourse against the Noida Authority.
The reclaimed land in Sector 25A and Sector 32 has two buildings, including a 43-storey structure, besides uncovered land, the Noida Authority said.
Wave Mega City Centre was allotted 6.18 lakh sq metre of commercial land in 2011. Eventually, the group was allotted an additional land parcel of 1.08 lakh sq metre and this allotment was cancelled on February 11 this year, the Authority said. ....
