Noida: The traffic movement is likely to be hit in the National Capital Region (NCR) on Sunday (April 4, 2021) as the officials have increased security and put in strict measures in view of the recent protests by the farmers on the Chilla route between Delhi and Noida.
The protests on Friday by Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) against the attack on their leader Rakesh Tikait in Rajasthan had disrupted the traffic flow and led to the sudden closure of the route.
The Chilla route between Noida and Delhi has been affected due to the demonstration. Commuters can use the DND (Delhi-Noida Direct) flyway or the Kalindi Kunj route for travelling, a Noida Traffic Police official had told PTI. ....

NOIDA: The District Development Residents Welfare Association (DDRWA) body held a meeting with DCP traffic Ganesh Prasad Shah along with ACP Rajneesh Verma, SHO Sector 24 Prabhat Kumar Dixit and the traffic team on Sunday, where residents raised the issue of haphazard driving by bus, taxi and auto drivers in many parts of the city.
The need to train and discipline auto drivers, many of whom are 14-15 year olds and operate illegally and the need for a weekly meeting of traffic officials with sector RWAs to take feedback and address issues related to traffic in sector markets and the city. ....

NOIDA: Believe it or not, the Noida traffic police has been able to earn a whopping Rs 3.28 crore by issuing over 5 lakh challans for different violations to motorists from January to November last year. This was despite fewer number of vehicles being seen on the roads of Gautam Budh Nagar during the lockdown.
While the revenue collection is lower than 2019 when 6,99,708 challans were issued and Rs 14.76 crore was collected from violators, the numbers for 2020 are higher than 2018 when Rs 2.77 crore was collected via 5,70,908 challans. As per traffic police data, the maximum number of challans (1,36,272) were issued for not wearing helmets followed by parking in “no parking” zone (1,29,184), wrong-side driving (72,464), driving without seatbelts (37,209), red light jumping (22,347), vehicle without or with faulty number plat ....
