The majority NPP MPs in Parliament have allegedly refused to turn up at the Christ The King Church in Accra where a thanksgiving service was held in honour of Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin on his election as Speaker of the 8th Parliament.
The service which was held yesterday, February 1, 2021 was well attended by Parliamentarians from the NDC side and the immediate past NDC lawmakers who were Bagbin s colleagues in the 7th Parliament.
However, the service which was supposed to be graced by both sides of the divide allegedly turned into an NDC gathering with no NPP lawmaker turning up, except the 1st and 2nd Deputy Speakers of Parliament. ....

NPP Members of Parliament arrived in Parliament early today Friday, 15 January 2021 to occupy the Majority side ahead of the resumption of the house.
Some of the NPP MPs revealed on social media, that, they arrived as early as 4 am.
Member of Parliament of Kwasimintsim Constituency in the Western Region on his Facebook page @Prince Hamid Armah wrote “ as early as 2 am this morning, I joined my colleagues on the majority side of the eight Parliament of the Fourth Republic to take our rightful seats on the right side of Mr. Speaker” ....

The Tema West Member of Parliament on the ticket of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hon. Carlos Ahenkorah has debunked the allegation of some people of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) that he acted on the instruction of his leader in Parliament to snatch the ballot papers.
According to the former Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, nobody should blame Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu for the decision he [Ahenkorah] made to snatch the ballot papers during the counting of the ballot papers to elect the next Speaker for the 8th Parliament.
Setting the record straight on Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, Hon. Carlos Ahenkorah explained that he only went to his leader, Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu to do something to stop the counting of the ballot papers before it is too late for the ruling party. ....
