Amid COVID-19 surge, Nainital HC directs Uttarakhand govt to increase testing ANI | Updated: Apr 29, 2021 10:47 IST Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], April 29 (ANI): Amid the massive surge in COVID-19 cases, Nainital High Court on Thursday ordered the Uttarakhand government to conduct 30,000-50,000 RT-PCR and rapid antigen tests in Dehradun, Haldwani, and Haridwar. The high court also directed the state government to increase home isolation tests. Claiming that the state has a shortage of doctors, the court suggested seeking help from the 2,500 registered dentists. A bench of senior judges R S Chauhan and Alok Kumar Verma took the aforementioned decision. A press note stated that Health Secretary Amit Negi was asked to immediately provide all required facilities to COVID-19 patients in home isolation. ....
The Nainital High Court on Wednesday, while hearing a petition filed against the poor condition of the quarantine centers, has directed the Uttarakhand government to present the standing operating procedures (SOPs) by January 11 for Kumbh Mela to be held in Haridwar. The quarantine centers case was heard by the bench of senior Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia and Justice Alok Verma and the adjourned the hearing to January 11. Petitions have been filed by advocate Dushyant Mainali and Doon resident Sachchidanand Dabral. According to the case, Mainali and Dabral had filed PILs in the High Court to help the poor people at the quarantine centers and Covid-19 hospitals and provide better health facilities for the migrants who returned to the state. ....
