Kazakhstan reports over 2,000 new COVID-19 cases


153 fresh COVID-19 cases were recorded in Akmola region. Almaty region reported 125 new COVID-19 cases.
97 people tested positive for COVID-19 in West Kazakhstan region, 87 – in Pavlodar region, 86 – in Shymkent city, 77 – in Atyrau region, 74 – in East Kazakhstan region, 50 – in Aktobe region, 39 – in Mangistau region, 32 – in Zhambyl region, 32 – in Kostanay region, 30 – in Turkestan region,16 – in Kyzylorda region, and 12 – in North Kazakhstan region.
In total, 360,193 cases of the coronavirus infection have been recorded in Kazakhstan since the start of the pandemic.

Covid impact on auto industry: Second wave of pandemic derails recovery momentum of domestic auto industry: Report | India Business News


MUMBAI: The second wave of the pandemic in the country has derailed the recovery momentum of the domestic auto industry, which was poised for a comeback in the current fiscal after witnessing the two consecutive challenging years, ratings agency ICRA said on Thursday.
Unlike the first wave where infections were largely localised to urban clusters, the second wave has seen deeper and wider penetration, including into rural hinterlands. Accordingly, outlook for various segments has been revised downwards, it said.

While pick-up in the vaccination drive is expected to support flattening of the curve going forward, an elongated recovery cycle or possibility of a third wave offers further downside risks to ICRA s volume estimates, according to ICRA. ....
