The present government is actively pursuing the completion of energy projects including those under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), said Minister for Energy Hammad Azhar.
Azhar’s comments came at the signing ceremony of an Addendum/Amendment to the agreement for the ±660-kilovolt HVDC Matiari-Lahore Transmission Line between NTDC and Pak MLTC and Amendment No 1 to the implementation agreement between Private Power and Infrastructure Board (PPIB) and the project company, ie Pak Matiari-Lahore Transmission Company (PMLTC). ....

ISLAMABAD:
Pakistan on Wednesday resumed trade with India as part of an understanding to gradually normalise bilateral relations and ensure food security of the country that is bracing for shortages of wheat, sugar and cotton.
The country had suspended bilateral trade with India on August 9, 2019 after “the Indian government’s unilateral action to change the status of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir”.
In the first place, the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the cabinet, immediately allowed the import of 500,000 metric tons of sugar and unspecified quantity of cotton and yarn from India to bridge the nearly three million shortfalls. ....

Matiari-Lahore transmission line commercial operation delayed - Newspaper

LAHORE: The commercial operation of the 660kV high voltage direct current (HVDC) Matiari-Lahore Transmission Line project is likely to face a delay of at least three months due to various administrative and technical issues, allegedly on the part of the National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) and Pak Matiari-Lahore Transmission Company (Pvt) Ltd (PMLTCPL).
However, it seems that the issues have been resolved amicably both by the NTDC and the company with certain new terms and conditions, Dawn learnt on Friday. However, the new commercial operation date (COD), which was earlier set as March 1, 2021, is yet to be decided and may take at least another three months. ....

Islamabad [Pakistan], February 11 (ANI): In a shock to Pakistan, Chinese company Pak Matiari- Lahore Transmission Company (PMLTC), which completed the Matiari-Lahore HVDC Transmission Project with the investment of USD 2.2 billion in two years time, has threatened to take the government-owned company National Transmission Dispatch Company (NTDC) to the international arbitration court.
According to a report by The News International, the Chinese company PMLTC, which completed +-660kV Matiari-Lahore HVDC Transmission Project with the investment of USD 2.2 billion in two years time, has threatened to move the international arbitration court against the NTDC for creating hurdles in the commissioning of the project. ....
