Budget approval UoP seeks guidance from governor Peshawar Bureau report PESHAWAR: The University of Peshawar has sought guidance from Chancellor/Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shah Farman Khan regarding his directives for approval of budget for the coming fiscal year before June 10, 2021. A formal letter was submitted to the governor in view of the situation arising out of the status quo obtained by university employees from the court about the university’s budget. The Finance and Planning Committee of the university had recommended the budget for placing before the University Syndicate on May 29, 2021. However, stay was obtained on the budget recommended for the fiscal year 2021 which has created a situation wherein the university is not in a position to pass its budget from the bodies concerned within the stipulated time. ....

KP govt finally appoints VCs for eight varsities National December 12, 2020 PESHAWAR: Putting an end to the growing speculations about the process, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Friday notified appointment of vice-chancellor of eight public sector universities for a three-year tenure. The notifications were issued Friday evening after formal approval of the summary by Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shah Farman Khan, who also serves as chancellor of public sector universities. The summary moved by the Higher Education Department after the list was finalized by the Academic and Search Committee was approved as it is by the provincial cabinet and then by the governor. Thus all the top candidates have been given the task of leading the universities concerned, reliable sources told The News. ....
