A north-east start-up company has secured an award for environmental best practice.
Legasea, based in Westhill, has won a Scottish Green Apple Environment Award in the campaign to find the greenest companies, councils, and communities.
It was awarded in relation to its Subsea Circular Economy services.
The business competed against more than 200 other nominations in the awards for Environmental Best Practice, and will be presented with a trophy and certificate at a presentation ceremony planned for May this year, subject to current restrictions being lifted.
The Green Apple Awards began in 1994 and have become established as the country’s major recognition for environmental endeavour among companies, councils and communities. ....

CJ Lang and Son, the wholesaler for Spar stores in Scotland, and its partner Gatechurch have won a Scottish Green Apple Environment Award for Environmental Best Practice in 2021.
The Green Apple Awards recognise environmental endeavour among companies, councils, communities, and countries. The awards are supported by the Environment Agency, the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, the Chartered Institution for Wastes Management, and other independent bodies.
CJ Lang and Son and Gatechurch have: saved almost 67 tonnes of food from going to waste, carbon emission savings of 244 tonnes CO2e, helped over 2,600 families and individuals, received on average 100 visitors per day, and given out the equivalent of 37,000 meals. ....
