LAHORE: Punjab University Department of Examinations has extended the last date for submission of admission form and fee for MA/MSc Part-I & Part-II, Associate Degree Commerce Part-I & Part-II Annual Examinations 2021, LLB (5 years) Part-I, II, III, IV & V annual examination 2021 and LLB (3 years) Part-I, II & III annual examination 2021. The last date for receipt of online admission forms and fee for the exams of regular, late college, private and improve division candidates is July 8, 2021 with single fee. Colleges, varsities to remain closed in Lahore, 22 other dists of Punjab - Pakistan

LAHORE: The Punjab Higher Education Department (HED) on Saturday extended closure of colleges and universities in 23 districts of the province due to increase in the number of coronavirus cases.
According to a notification of the HED, “Pursuant to the decisions taken in the meeting of National Command & Operation Centre (NCOC) held on May 19, all public and private colleges in following districts shall remain closed till further orders. The districts include Attock, Gujranwala, Layyah, Okara, Bahawalpur, Gujrat, Lodhran, Rahim Yar Khan, Bhakkar, Khanewal, Mianwali, Rawalpindi, Dera Ghazi Khan, Khushab, Multan, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Lahore, Muzaffargarh and Toba Tek Singh.” ....

LAHORE: The Government College University (GCU) on Wednesday announced that representatives of student bodies would be allowed to attend official meetings and make decisions on administrative and academic matters.
The representatives of various societies also would be given an opportunity to provide feedback on the administrative and academic matters to address their apprehensions and getting real-time feedback and fixing those problems.
GCU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Asghar Zaidi said the students were main stakeholders in the university affairs. “It is unfortunate we do not involve them enough in decision making.” He said the students’ presence in official meetings would not only give their perspectives on the policies but it would also build their capacity as future leaders of the country. ....

Educational institutions to have career counselling centres: minister - Newspaper


LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Higher Education and Information Technology Raja Yasir Humayun says career counselling centres will be set up in educational institutions to guide the students.
A web portal will also be launched to help the students. He was giving an interview to the FM radio and web TV of the Lahore College for Women University. The minister also visited the Department of Mass Communication.
LCWU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Bushra Mirza and Department Chairperson Dr Anjum Zia briefed the minister on the equipment, studios and laboratories set up in the department. The VC said in his briefing that during Covid-19, the Lahore College for Women University continued teaching with the help of the Learning Management System. ....
