Police on Thursday arrested PML-N women leader Tanveer Chaudhry for allegedly thrashing a lady police constable.
A first-hand Information Report (FIR) at Islampura police station is lodged on the complaint of lady constable Anam Fatima.
Five unidentified persons, including Tanveer Chaudhry, have been nominated in the case.
Police on Thursday arrested PML-N women leader Tanveer Chaudhry (Tanveer Bibi) for allegedly thrashing a woman police constable after the latter tried to stop Tanveer from entering the premises of an Accountability Court.

Punjab Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs, and Cooperatives Muhammad Basharat Raja on Monday said the Punjab Assembly is introducing two new important legislation to empower females.
In a message on the occasion of International Women s Day, he said that the provincial government was taking effective steps for the welfare and protection of women at large.
He highlighted that the bills on Women Hostels Authority, as well as Inherited Property, would help ensure legal empowerment of women.
“It would enable easy access to rights, right after the bills are assented to by the assembly members and governor,” he explained.

LAHORE:Speakers at a seminar have called upon the need to create awareness among the public at large and enforcement of relevant laws in the country for elimination of gender-based violence to help build a strong and healthy society.
