Covid Situation improving gradually with collaborative efforts of all in J&K, says LG | India News


SRINAGAR: LG Manoj Sinha on Sunday stressed that the Covid situation is gradually improving in Jammu and Kashmir with the collective efforts of health workers, doctors, and other related people.
LG in his video message also sought the active participation of various stakeholders to complement the government’s efforts in the fight against the Covid pandemic.
“The pandemic situation is improving gradually here. We are intensifying the vaccination drive across the UT. With 63 % of the total targeted population vaccinated till date, J&K is ahead of many states/UTs of the country and is among one of the best-performing regions in terms of vaccination,” LG Sinha said. ....

Three elderly Dalit men were forced to fall at the feet of caste Hindus at Ottanandhal Pancchayat near Thiruvennainallur in Villupuram district following a quarrel.   | Photo Credit:

The police in Villupuram district arrested two caste Hindus and booked a case against six others for making three elderly Dalit men fall at their feet and apologise over a quarrel.
The arrested have been identified as Gokul Raj and Seetharaman of Ottanandhal Panchayat.
Cases have been booked against the eight persons under 147, 294 (b), 506 (1) read with various provisions of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. ....
