OOMCO showcases its expanding marine fuels and solutions at forum By: Times News Service Muscat: Continuing to transform the fuel industry, Oman Oil Marketing Company (OOMCO) recently participated in the Middle East Bunkering Convention 2021. Held online, the conference gathered key industry players to discuss the issues and challenges facing the marine fuels sector and the wider shipping industry. During the event, OOMCO’s General Manager of International Retail, Ali Ahmed Muqaibal, shared a video presentation on the company’s expanding marine fuels and solutions at the Port of Duqm. Playing an active role in the bunker business since 1994, OOMCO is currently building a bunker terminal bunker barge to be permanently located at the port, part of its strategic mission to broaden its services beyond fuel while supporting Oman’s 2040 Vision.

New bunker terminal set for Q2 launch at Port of Duqm Muscat, Oman, February 2, 2021 Oman Oil Marketing Company (OOMCO), the domestic fuel marketing subsidiary of OQ Group, has said it plans to commission its new bunker terminal at the Port of Duqm before the second quarter of this year, a report in   Playing an active role in the bunker business since 1994, OOMCO is currently building a bunker terminal bunker barge to be permanently located at the port. The facility will serve as the central hub for bunkering services in other ports in Oman, offering 30,000 cu m of storage capacity. The terminal will also benefit from being next door to Duqm Refinery, which is planned to be commissioned in the first half of 2022, in addition to Oman Dry Dock, Ras Markaz Crude Oil Park, and a growing number of industries in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ).

MOL refutes ‘seriously flawed conclusions’ made in Forbes Wakashio article 19 Jan 2021 Japanese shipping firm Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) on Monday (18 January) said it fundamentally disagrees with and rejects the analysis made in the article published by Forbes regarding the MV Wakashio oil spill.  The article entitled “Explosive Documents Reveal BP Behind Toxic Mauritius Oil Spill” was published on 6 January, 2021. MOL claims the article to be based on misleading interpretation of unconnected information and comes to seriously flawed conclusions regarding the incident.  MOL published the following as clarifications of its actions and grounds to reject the allegations made in the published article:
