Puvvada hands over cheques for ₹2lakh each to families of victims
The State government will move the High Court seeking constitution of a fast-track special court for speedy trial in the horrific case of sexual abuse of five girl students allegedly by a headmaster of the Mandal Parishad Primary School (MPPS) at Chintavarre village in Laxmidevipalli mandal to ensure harshest punishment to the accused swiftly, said Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar.
The Women and Child Welfare Department will approach the High Court with a request for setting up of a fast-track court for speedy trial of the case, he added. ....

A bus bay has been created at a bus stop on both sides of Grand Northern Trunk Road. These two bus stops are found near the newly-opened Madhavaram Mofussil Bus Terminus (MMBT).
The permanent barricades installed by the State Highways are made of steel and would get bus drivers to stop only within the dedicated space.
Traffic congestion near the bus stops is the main reason for installing these barricades. Apparently, the traffic police raised the issue of traffic congestion and accidents, especially at night, due to buses stopping in the middle of the carriageway and hindering the free movement of other vehicles around the Madhavaram roundtana. ....

Cold Wave Warning Issued For Hyderabad:- The winter season this year is quite chilling and the temperatures dipped down across the country. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a bulletin about the cold wave that is expected to take a toll. The impact would be high across the northern and western districts of Telangana and the IMD said that the temperatures in Hyderabad will remain low at 11 degrees and the city would witness fog or mist. As per the weather forecast, the expected low temperatures in Hyderabad are said to be 12 degrees till December 25th. ....

The police department has set in motion a slew of initiatives to strengthen infrastructure facilities at the district police headquarters and capacity building of the district police.
These initiatives also include construction of as many as nine new police station buildings at an estimated cost of ₹ 2.50 crore each in the district, which shares border with the Left-Wing Extremism (LWE) affected areas of Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh.
The foundation stones for the police station buildings in Chunchupalli, Laxmidevipalli and Sujathnagar have already been laid.
Plans are afoot to construct modern police station buildings with state of the art facilities in Charla and Dummugudem of Bhadrachalam Agency, sources said. ....
