The 8-year-old girl allegedly shot once in the head by her brother Sunday night, has died, police said Thursday.

SOUTHFIELD (WXYZ) â An 8-year-old girl who was shot at an apartment complex in Southfield on Jan. 3 has died, according to Southfield police.
Police say the incident took place at the Twelve North Apartments on 12 Mile Road.
The girl s 20-year-old brother was taken into police custody following the incident. We re told the girl s mother and another brother were home at the time of the shooting.
According to police, they do not believe this was an accidental shooting, and the brother, Gyasi Stribling, has been charged in the shooting. That charge is expected to be upgraded to open murder by the Oakland County Prosecutor s Office because the girl died. ....
