Mrs. Violet Arlene Pennebaker, 90, of Frederick and formerly of Lancaster, PA, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Thurmont, MD. She was the wife of the late James D. Pennebaker, who died on February 28, 2015.
Born September 25, 1930 in Lewistown, PA, Violet was the daughter of the late Harold Singley and the late Sara Davis. She graduated from Temple University in 1951 and worked as a nurse in Lancaster General Hospital for many years. She loved travelling with her husband, and together they visited 43 countries and every continent.
Mrs. Pennebaker is survived by her daughter, Pamela S. Zimmerman & husband Gary; a granddaughter, Kelly Zimmerman; her sister, Edith M. Fogleman, and many nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives. A private inurnment will take place this Spring in Lewistown, PA.
