Arshad to resume training in Lahore on May 17 Sports KARACHI: Pakistanâs premier javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem will resume his training from May 17. âHe returned from Turkey the other day and has been sent home to spend a few days with his family,â Arshadâs coach Fayyaz Bukhari told âThe Newsâ on Friday. âHe will resume his training in Lahore on May 17,â he added. Having been stuck in Turkey due to lockdown, Arshad eventually succeeded in returning home the other day. He had gone there to get some training from World Athletics coach Viktor of Kazakhstan in Antalya. âAs Arshad will be returning to me after a month I will check his fitness and skills levels and will make a plan accordingly,â Fayyaz said. ....

However, he is hopeful that in a couple of days he will be able to get a flight. “Here lockdown was imposed on April 29 and there is also a flight issue but I am hopeful in two or three days I will be able to get the flight back to Pakistan,” Arshad told ‘The News’ from Antalya on Sunday. Athletics Federation of Pakistan’s (AFP) president Maj Gen (retd) Akram Sahi told The News they have made tentative reservation for Arshad and he will hopefully return on May 5. ....
