Palmyra City Council discusses business license fee increase

HANNIBAL â Palmyra City Council members discussed an annual increase for business licenses, citing several costs which have gone up since the $10 license fee was set in 1973.
City Clerk Deena Parsons said increased costs included the hourly rate for city employees, insurance changes, exemptions for self-employed residents and more time to process the applications if a document needs to be resubmitted. City Council members agreed to assess the amount of time and the increase in costs to determine a fee increase planned for the beginning of the calendar year.

City of Lincoln plans annual clean up day

The City of Lincoln will host a City wide cleanup and tire collection from of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 17 at The Lincoln Municipal Services Building, 313 Limit St., in Lincoln. The purpose of this cleanup is to give the residents of Lincoln an opportunity to dispose of large bulky items and other things that would not normally be picked up during regular weekly waste collection. Residents should enter the facility off of Limit Street, stay to the right, and continue all the way around the building to the unloading area at the southwest corner. After unloading your vehicle, stay to the right, and exit back on to Limit Street. There will be staff from the City and Area Disposal to assist with unloading. Photo I.D. is required to show proof of residency. ....

WHITE HALL City Council has asked the city attorney to send cease-and-desist letters to Robert Sanders Trash and some residents to prevent a breach of contract with Area Disposal.
It was brought to the council’s attention that some residential customers in the city were not paying Area Disposal, or using Robert Sanders for trash services, which causes a breach of contract with the trash company and violates the city’s trash ordinance. ....
