THE Protected Area Management Board (PAMB) is recommending a yearly closure of Mount Apo. The Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Davao Regional Public Affairs Office (DENR-RPAO) Chief Jayvee Agas told SunStar Davao in a phone interview on Thursday, April 8, 2021, that this was one of the recommendations during a meeting on March 31. Agas said the board recommended that there will be a regular rehabilitation period of Mount Apo through a yearly three-month closure or “offset season,” particularly from June to August. The reason for this para magkaroon ng (is to have a) rehabilitation activities within the Mount Apo Natural Park. When you say rehabilitation, kasama na doon ang (this includes) cleanup drive, tree planting activities, and we have to do some strategies para magkaroon tayo ng (to have) other facilities, she said. ....
