NGCP collaborates with DOE, stakeholders on solving 'power system issues' – Manila Bulletin

System operator National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) sought collaboration with the industry stakeholders, primarily with the Department of Energy (DOE), on its bid to finally resolve issues hounding the country’s power system – including those on reserves, transmission facility investments and scheduling of power facilities’ preventive maintenance shutdowns.
The company said a meeting between them as well as with DOE, Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), National Transmission Corporation (TransCo) and other agencies happened on August 4 (Wednesday) to sort out pressing matters on the provision of electricity service to consumers.
On concerns relating to ancillary services procurements or power reserves contracting, NGCP noted that this is being addressed and it has already sounded off adherence to planned conversion of its non-firm contracts into firm AS contracts. ....

The state government released the Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap in late 2020, which outlines NSW’s renewable energy plan and renewable energy targets. Its enabling legislation is the Electricity Infrastructure Investment Act 2020 (NSW), and it also passed both houses of parliament in late 2020. So what do these mean for the state and the country?
More renewable energy investment from the private sector
The primary goal of this renewable energy plan is to put the groundwork, structures and framework in place to attract more private investment in renewable energy solutions.
It lays out a goal of achieving $32 billion in private investment for regional energy infrastructure by 2030, which will result in around 9000 jobs in regional NSW as well. This will be achieved through 12GW of renewable generation through new projects, and 3GW storage by 2030. MANILA, Philippines The National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) has committed to expand the country’s transmission network after getting inputs from stakeholders in mapping out its priority projects.
“Our stakeholders’ inputs are vital as we map out our priority projects to address the growing demand for power in the country. This will ensure that the plans of NGCP for the coming years are in sync with the needs of our power customers and the entire energy industry,” NGCP said.
The grid operator continued to hold annual public consultations despite the COVID-19 pandemic to present the 2021-2040 Transmission Development Plan (TDP) to various energy agencies and stakeholders across the country. ....
