LAHORE: The metropolitan city witnessed a lukewarm new year celebration on Thursday night as the local administration strictly enforced coronavirus SOPs.
Most of the restaurants and hotels witnessed low attendance as they were not allowed to hold an event on the eve of the new year. Only five- and three-star hotels were allowed gatherings but not beyond 300 people and that too with strict compliance of SOPs.
Motorcyclists, however, exhibited their traditional drives on Gulberg Main Boulevard, Liberty Chowk, MM Alam Road, Jail Raod, and Canal Road by blowing horns. Coffee shops in and around Gulberg and MM Alam Road attracted sizable visitors, including women and children. Most of the restaurants and hotels established outdoor dining spaces and installed lights on the premises. ....
