Ganduje distributes resources to bolster free, compulsory education

Speaking at the event, Ganduje said the state has been able to judiciously use its resources via the policy to reduce the number of out-of-school children in the state.
“When we say free, we mean children will no longer pay school fees and by compulsory education, we mean it is necessary and not optional, the right of children to education.
“We are distributing textbooks of English and Mathematics for JSS1-3 and SS1-3 as part of educational facilities.
“We are also providing cheques for the maintenance of our schools on daily basis and we have also introduced additional innovation by adding other aspects of Islamic knowledge and western education in our three Tsangaya school system so that the curriculum will go beyond recitation of the Holy Quran only. ....

Sawo, Gambian Lawyer, Receives $10,000 Daily Trust African of the Year Award

Mr. Mogae, a former President of Botswana, had mandated Mr. Yusuf to travel to Banjul and make the presentation on his behalf, owing to travel challenges across many parts of the world in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Media Trust director, Rabiu Garba, dies at 63

Family sources said he had been on admission in Egypt for over a month. His younger brother, Saminu Garba, said the family was making arrangements for the return of his corpse to Nigeria for burial.
Born on June 21, 1957, the Late Garba was the chairman of Media Trust Limited’s board committee on editorial and production until late last year when he moved to the contact and business committee.
Garba had, three years ago at the 20th anniversary of Media Trust Ltd, narrated how the
Daily Trust, then Weekly Trust, started in a small building which he described as his house “boys quarters”. ....
