Richard Webby, Ph.D., of the St. Jude Department of Infectious Diseases, is principal investigator for the CEIRR program at St. Jude and director of the World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for Studies on the Ecology of Influenza in Animals and Birds.
The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, (NIAID), an affiliate of the National Institutes of Health, is providing an estimated $24 million to support five Centers of Excellence for Influenza Research and Response (CEIRR), including at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The federal contract (75N93021C00016) includes more than $8.9 million in first-year funding to support St. Jude research to better understand, predict, track and treat emerging flu and other viruses. ....

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), part of the National Institutes of Health, has established a network of research sites to study the natural history, transmission and pathogenesis of influenza and provide an international research infrastructure to address influenza outbreaks. The program, called the Centers of Excellence for Influenza Research and Response (CEIRR), is expected to be supported for seven years by NIAID contracts to five institutions. Funding for the first year of the contracts will total approximately $24 million. CEIRR will replace the Centers of Excellence for Influenza Research and Surveillance (CEIRS) program, which was supported by contracts that concluded on March 31, 2021. ....

TechSource, Inc., headquartered in Los Alamos, is part of the Battelle Savannah River Alliance, LLC (BSRA) team to which the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Environmental Management (EM) has awarded the Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) Management and Operations contract (M&O).
The $3.8 billion cost plus award fee contract scope includes operations and maintenance of SRNL’s nuclear and non-nuclear facilities. The contract also entails DOE missions support in environmental management, national security, science discovery, energy security and legacy management activities.
The SRNL M&O contract consists of a five year base period with option periods to five-years. BSRA is led by and wholly owned by Battelle. ....
