Karachi: A remote-controlled bomb exploded on Monday in the Pakistani city of Karachi, killing a paramilitary soldier and injuring eight other people, police said.
“[The] initial investigation suggests an explosive-rigged motorcycle was used in the blast,” senior police officer Suhai Aziz told
Reuters, adding that the device was detonated through remote control.
The device, planted next to a security services vehicle, also injured six other people who happened to be in the area, according to Karachi police officials. ....

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Interior Sheikh Rashid on Monday has said that the brave soldiers of security forces have sacrificed their lives to defeat terrorism.
Talking to media, the minister said that the police personnel have ensured peace in the country by risking their lives. Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is organizing again from Afghanistan, he claimed.
Sheikh Rashid further told that Karachi and Islamabad are under terror threats.
The reaction came after at least five terrorists were killed in encounter with Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Mastung on Sunday night. ....

At least four Pakistani soldiers have been killed after terrorists opened fire on a security post in South Waziristan s Makeen, the military said on Friday.
The attack took place late on Thursday.
In a statement, Pakistan s Army media affairs wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said troops responded promptly and killed four terrorists.
During the exchange of fire, four soldiers embraced shahadat, Dawn quoted the statement.
The soldiers were identified as Lance Naik Imran Ali, Sepoy Atif Jahangir, Sepoy Aneesur Rehman and Sepoy Aziz.
Area sanitisation in progress, the ISPR statement said. ....
