Province to spend $6.4M for support for victims of crime, sexual abuse

The province is spending $6.4 million in 24 community groups that deliver support to victims of crime and sexual violence.
Three groups will receive $850,000 in recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness Month: the Ka Ni Kanichihk’s Heart Medicine Lodge to expand support for Indigenous survivors of sexual assault, the Survivor’s Hope Crisis Centre to expand its sexual assault programming, and the Western Manitoba Women’s Regional Resource Centre to create crisis-based sexual assault services in Brandon.
