JOHANNESBURG, South Africa, 17 May 2021 UNFPA East and Southern Africa, under the auspices of the Safeguard Young People programme, today launched the ‘Climate HackLab’ project, which aims to empower young people and offer them the opportunity to be game changers and drivers of a sustainable green future.
Through the UNFPA Climate HackLab project, young people will create smart innovations that will help build resilience during adverse climate events in their communities.
From young people aged 14 to 35 years, the project will solicit creative and smart innovations or ideas that have the potential to be scaled up in East and Southern Africa. ....

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa To help improve management of the COVID-19 pandemic in East and Southern Africa, UNFPA and UNICEF are developing new content on sexual and reproductive health and HIV that is aimed at adolescents and young people, through the Safeguard Young People and 2Gether for SRH programmes. In April, the two UN agencies rolled out a new poll on adolescent sexual and reproductive health and HIV social behaviour change communication (SBCC) for the U-Report, Internet of Good Things (IoGT) and TuneMe mobile platforms. ....

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa UNFPA East and Southern Africa through the Safeguard Young People Programme in collaboration with UNICEF within the 2gether for SRH programme is in the process of developing new content for adolescents and young people on Sexual Reproductive Health and HIV for the Internet of Good Things (IoGT) and developed new polls on Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health & HIV Social Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) for the three mobile platforms that the two agencies work with: U-Report, IoGT and TuneMe. The polls were rolled out in April 2021. The collaboration will also include a reference into IoGT AYP SRH/HIV pages on TuneMe and vice versa for cross-promotion among young people. ....
