BoC fully completes projects vs smuggling in 2020

The bureau said it achieved a 100 percent accomplishment rate on its mission to improve measures against illicit trade under its 10-Point Priority Program for 2020 aimed at strengthening border security.
Various projects to improve the risk management system of the bureau were implemented.
Under the 10-Point Priority Program for 2020, the bureau, through its Risk Management Office (RMO), conducted the enhancement of the Selectivity System in the Universal Risk Management System (URMS) in which a new color lane was activated in September 2020; the enabling of Information Technology capabilities for a more efficient targeting or profiling; and the strengthening of RMO with the operationalization of its units such as Risk Assessment Unit, the Research and Analysis Unit, and the Strategic Assessment Unit. ....

Customs completes 89 percent of 2020 priority programs

The long-term priority programs includes the full automation of frontline transactions, improvement of risk management system, implementation of customs modernization program, ISO certification of customs offices and PGS compliance, enhancement of trade facilitation, rationalization of penalty regime, filling-up of vacant plantilla positions, enhancement of management and technical skills, enhancement of stakeholder engagement and intensification of border protection.
This set of programs is in line with the agency’s mission to strengthen the country’s border protection, enhance trade facilitation and improve revenue collection.
Under the full automation of frontline transactions, the Customs bureau has implemented the upgrade and stabilization project for the E2M system, online payment through PayMaya and online submission of documents through the Customer Care Portal System. ....

The Port of NAIA-CCC will serve as a One-Stop Shop or central hub for Customs-related transactions in NAIA such as document receiving and releasing, payment, document tracking, and general stakeholder information while the NAIA-CMEC CCC will house parcel-related transactions such as parcel tracking, shipment information, follow-ups, parcel inquiries and other concerns to further assist NAIA stakeholders in managing their businesses in the port.
Furthermore, both centers aim to support the Bureau’s effort to further re-engineer the BOC systems and processes towards a credible and efficient customs service, and fully implement No Contact Policy to eliminate corruption opportunities. ....
