NSA against UP hospitals, entities peddling lies on oxygen shortage | Lucknow News

LUCKNOW: Days after chief minister Yogi Adityanath announced invoking National Security Act against anyone trying to create fear and panic during the pandemic, particularly hospitals falsely claiming oxygen shortage, additional chief secretary (information) Navneet Sehgal clarified action would be initiated only against those peddling lies.
“Some hospitals claimed oxygen shortage, but were found to have adequate supply on inspection. The threat of action is against such entities. Those hospitals with genuine problems should approach the district magistrate or chief medical officer to resolve their problem,” he said.
On Monday, Tata and Reliance offered to augment the oxygen supply in Uttar Pradesh and their proposals are being worked out. Sehgal said, arrangements were being made to procure more oxygen and guidelines for an oxygen audit had been issued. Lucknow, April 27 : The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has taken a fresh initiative to overcome the shortage of empty oxygen cylinders in the state.
The state government has ordered Bharat Pumps and Compressors Limited (BPCL), a closed public sector unit in Prayagraj that manufactured oxygen cylinders, to restart and manufacture 3,000 cylinders.
Additional Chief Secretary, MSME, Navneet Sehgal said that the Oxygen cylinder making unit will be able to meet the demand of shortage of cylinders in hospitals. ....

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to slap the National Security Act against hospital managements spreading lies and creating panic over allegations of oxygen shortage during the ongoing second wave of coronavirus.
To expose lies and rumours about oxygen shortage and the attribution of deaths to a lack of oxygen, the Chief Minister had already ordered an oxygen audit of all government and private hospitals across the state.
IIM Lucknow has already joined hands with the IIT Kanpur and BHU to develop software for the oxygen audit in stateâs private and government hospitals. ....
