Bartlesville City Councilman Paul Stuart and Tyler Vaclaw will not be getting tattoos of Bartlesville s latest mascot - Bville Bill the Bison - but they did raise money for a great cause.
In Councilman Stuart and Vaclaw s challenge to raise $25,000 for Bartlesville Regional United Way (BRUW), $1,285 was raised by 18 donors through a GoFundMe account organized by Stuart. Councilman Stuart said the goal was to raise funds for BRUW while promoting Bville Bill the Bison, who encourages the public to practice the three W s: wash you hands, watch your distance, and wear a mask. ....

A city councilor and former school board member from Bartlesville are raising money for charity.
They promise to get a tattoo of the city s new mascot if people can raise $25,000 for United Way by Thursday night at midnight. Bartlesville Regional United Way President and CEO Lisa Cary says they re only at about 60% of their fundraising goal for this year because of the pandemic, but some dedicated, and determined, people are hoping to change that.
I have zero tattoos,” said Ward 2 Bartlesville City Councilor, Paul Stuart.
Stuart and Former School Board Member Tyler Vaclaw are working together to raise $25,000 dollars for the United Way and if they hit their goal before the New Year, the city s new mascot could become permanent. ....

Uniforms Acquired for 80 Scouters through Generosity

Over 80 scouters in the Cherokee Area Council BSA will be uniformed thanks to the kindness of others.
Wright said this is the second year the Cherokee Area Council BSA has put on the Scout Giving Tree event. In 2019, the Council was able to outfit 47 scouts through the program.

Bartlesville City Councilman Paul Stuart and Tyler Vaclaw have issued a challenge to Bartlesville.
If $25,000 is raised for Bartlesville Regional United Way through a GoFundMe that has been organized by Councilman Stuart, both Stuart and Vaclaw will get a tattoo of Bville Bill the Buffalo. Bville Bill is the latest mascot adopted by the City of Bartlesville to raise awareness about COVID-19 and encourage people to follow the three W s: wash your hands, watch your distance, and wear a mask.
In a statement, Councilman Stuart said:
I don t have any tattoos and don t have any strong desire to get one, but I would love to follow thru with this commitment I made. Make a donation to support the Bartlesville Regional United Way. ....

Outfit a Local Scout this Holiday Season

The BSA Cherokee Area Council is asking you to help them outfit a scout in our area this holiday season.
Scout Executive Phillip Wright said this is the second consecutive year that the BSA Cherokee Area Council has put on the event. Wright said they outfitted over 47 scouts last year. He said they re half way to outfitting 81 scouts in the area this year.
All you have to do to help out is visit the scout shop, pick a tag, and spread a little holiday cheer by uniforming a scout who needs a little extra assistance. The scout shop is located at 520 S. Quapaw Avenue in Bartlesville. ....
