Four local restaurants participate in Operation Take-Out to offer free delivery tonight

The BC Resources Coalition (BCRC) is teaming up with the restaurants to help alleviate some financial pressure created by the current provincial health protocols surrounding indoor dining.
This evening (Saturday), around 15 volunteers from the BCRC will be driving delivery orders for the restaurants.
By volunteering, the cost of labour for delivery drivers or third-party delivery services such as Skip the Dishes will be eliminated to maximize the restaurant’s profits for the night.
“It really touches my heart that people are coming out to volunteer their time to make sure we have at least one huge successful night,” said Carey-Lynn Campioni, Co-Owner of North 54. ....

Petrochemical complex heading back to Prince George

The massive West Coast Olefins Ltd. petrochemical complex is returning to Prince George. Originally proposed for land on the BCR Industrial Site, proponents began looking north to sites near Summit Lake and Bear Lake in response to public pressure. But speaking on a webcast hosted by the B.C. Resources Coalition, WCOL president Ken James said the project is heading back to the city.

He attributed the reversal to a combination of steadfast opposition from a “vocal minority” no matter where it was to be located, combined with pleas from the “silent majority” to bring it back to the original site in Prince George. ....

For the second time in just over a year, West Coast Olefins has decided to set up shop in Prince George.
At the end of the day, James told
MyPGNow.com a series of roadblocks led to them returning to PG.
“When we moved north, we found out that the same group who suggested we go north were still objecting to our project then their voices were added to the people in Summit Lake and we went, well, we aren’t getting the positives when we decided to move north.” ....

West Coast Olefins brings 5.6 billion dollar petrochemical plant back to PG

Back to where it all began.
After much deliberation, West Coast Olefins has decided to bring its 5.6-billion dollar petrochemical plant to Prince George.
The announcement was made tonight (Tuesday) during a Facebook Live announcement hosted by the BC Resources Coalition.
West Coast Olefins CEO Ken James noted they have secured back the original location, which was the BCR Industrial Site.
“At the end of the day, we made the decision to come back into Prince George. We got a lot of feedback to come back when we decided to move the project north,” added James. ....
