McKeil Marine Limited is alerting residents and visitors to Picton that they have arranged for icebreaking tug services in the Bay of Quinte and Picton Bay areas on Wednesday, to permit the transit of their cement carrier vessel, the McKeil Spirit.
Members of the public should also be aware that marine operations are expected to continue in and around the Bay of Quinte and Picton Bay areas on March 11 and 12. A new tugboat is plying Bay of Quinte and Lake Ontario waters after making an epic journey across the Atlantic Ocean to her new home at Picton Terminals in Prince Edward County.
The 32.2-metre-long Amy Lynn D tug will be a common sight in local waters in years to come as she guides barges loaded with locally quarried stone from Picton to construction projects along the north shore of Lake Ontario.
