In a surprise move at its annual meeting, West Otago farmer Richard Young announced he was standing down as chairman of Silver Fern Farms Co-operative.
Young made the announcement at the conclusion of the meeting last Thursday, saying he intended to see out his remaining two-year period as a director. ....

When Fiona Hancox stood for the board of Silver Fern Farms, it was all about timing.
Six years later, the West Otago farmer s decision to not seek re-election in this year s farmer director elections for Silver Fern Farms Co-operative was also about timing.
While acknowledging it was sad to leave what was a fantastic company and board and also such an important part of her family s own farming business - it was the right time, she said. ....

Dunedin 1 February 2021: Nominations are now open for two farmer-elected Board positions on the Silver Fern Farms Co-operative Board.
Directors Fiona Hancox and Rob Hewett retire by rotation at the Co-operative’s 2021 Annual Meeting.
Rob Hewett has advised he will seek re-election, and Fiona Hancox will be standing down.
Nominations close on Friday 26 February 2021 at 12 noon.
The result of any election will be made public prior to the 2020 Annual Meeting, which will be held in Dunedin on 29 April 2021. The record date for voting will be 29 March 2021. ....
