Photography Students Examine Careers in Law Enforcement

Students in Mrs. Heather Nix’s Photography 1 and Photography 2 classes at Brownwood High School (BHS) are currently studying careers. With 1.4 trillion photographs shared on social media a year, they are looking at the diverse careers that deal with photography. One of those careers is in Law Enforcement.
Students attended a presentation organized by Officer Bastardo and Cpl. Kimberly Holland from the Brownwood Police Department on Monday, April 26th. Cpl. Holland, along with others, presented information about how important photography is to law enforcement and the court system.
Photography students examined images from closed cases, a criminal investigation vehicle, and two mock crime scenes. The officers also talked about how they photograph the scenes. ....

Death of Man Likely Tragic Accident

The Brownwood Police Department on Tuesday morning released the following update on a deceased person discovered Monday morning at 200 W. Chandler in Brownwood.
“On Monday, January 11, 2021, the Brownwood Police Department released information of a call of a deceased person at 200 W Chandler; in Brownwood. The deceased person has been identified as 58-year-old Patrick Michael O’Conner of Brownwood. It appears that Mr. O’Conner was attempting to retrieve items from the Good Samaritan donation bin when he became trapped in the bin door. Items were gathered at the scene and information is still being processed. This remains an active investigation, and detectives are investigating all possibilities, but all information to this point indicates a tragic accident. Our sincere sympathy is extended to the family of Mr O’Conner.” ....
