The proposal for three residential towers at 221 to 227 Sterling Road in the Junction Triangle area of Toronto would replace the decades-old live-work spaces at Sterling Studio Lofts. The building is unique in that it offers affordable rental units for artists and creators. The condo and rental development would include three residential towers on two podiums with a total of 892 residential units, according to an application submitted to the city. Robyn Edie/Stuff Miriam and Ivan van de Water have sold their business, van de Water Jewellers, in Gore and plan to retire to Wanaka in June. Buying diamonds in Belgium has always been looked forward to by Ivan van de Water. He and wife Miriam are in their 38th year of owning van de Water Jewellers in Gore, but their time in the business is coming to an end as they have sold it. The van der Waters are retiring to Wanaka and have sold the business to Megan and Brad Lamb who have recently moved from Tokanui to Gore. The Lambs take possession on June 1. ....

Farr said he posed questions to the city s planning staff recently after hearing people who bought a spot in the two 32-storey towers at the CHCH-TV property in Durand were getting refunds. What they shared with my office [on Monday] was Television City has recently told them they re not planning on cancelling the project.
