Rocks Rd access highlighted in Future Access Project Feedback

At a meeting of the council’s Regional Transport Committee last week, Future Access project manager Rhys Palmer reported to councillors on some of the key feedback they had received so far.
Palmer said over the five weeks of consultation there had been nearly 1700 responses from online users, along with about 250 people attending the three open days during May.

NELSUST spokesman Peter Olorenshaw said if the councils were serious about changing the way people approached transport “we must make buses more attractive than driving”.
Other proposals spoke of the need for more express bus services, and the extension of bus services to North Nelson/Hira. ....

MIL-OSI New Zealand: Local Government – Lower Hutt politicians join forces to Fight for the Flyer

Source: Hutt City Council
Lower Hutt Mayor Campbell Barry, City Councillor Deborah Hislop and MPs Ginny Andersen and Chris Bishop have joined together to lead the Fight for the Flyer Campaign – encouraging people to submit to the Regional Council to ensure the airport bus service is returned to Lower Hutt.
Greater Wellington Regional Council is currently consulting on its Regional Public Transport Plan. This includes a proposal to introduce a public bus service by 2022 between Wellington Station to Wellington Airport, but to axe the Lower Hutt service.
