SRINAGAR: Entertaining a plea challenging the recent order issued by the Regional Transport Officer Kashmir for the re-registration of vehicles bought outside Jammu and Kashmir, the high court directed the advocate General to appear before the court on Wednesday, April 07, 2021 while hearing this matter.
The writ petition WP(C) No 669/2021 titled Zahoor Ahmad Bhat Vs Government of Jammu and Kashmir and others, challenging the impugned order issued by RTO Kashmir dated 27/03/21 was listed on Monday before the court.
The court decided to hear the matter and directed Advocate General to present before the court on April 7, 2021.
Since this order was issued, dozens of vehicles with a non-Jammu and Kashmir registration have been seized by the authorities across Kashmir after a decision to get such vehicles re-registered with the Jammu and Kashmir government. ....
