84 baby green sea turtles released in Antique

ILOILO CITY – The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) recently released 84 baby green sea turtles off the coast of Tibiao town, Antique province.
“More sightings of sea turtle hatch in Antique also indicate a healthy ocean ecosystem. We are thankful to the fishermen, our partners and guardians of the environment in saving our marine wildlife species,” said DENR-6 Regional Director Livino Duran.
This was as DENR-Culasi released the 84 hatchlings of the green sea turtle with a scientific name of Chelonia mydas in San Francisco Norte village of Tibiao town.
While the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) considers it as an endangered specie, the green sea turtle is thriving in Antique. ....
