Bodybuilders flex muscle at state championship | Surat News

100 participants took part in the body building championship on Sunday
Surat: On the second day of the state-level bodybuilding and powerlifting championship, a preliminary round of selection in bodybuilding competition was held at the City Plus multiplex. Of the contestants, 40 were selected in eight weight categories for the final rounds that were held on Sunday evening in Police Parade Ground, Athwalines.
Altogether 100 participants took part in the body building championship of whom, five were police personnel. The participants have come from 13 districts across the state.
On Saturday, 248 participants took part in preliminary rounds of powerlifting at Dayalji Ashram. City police is organizing both the events in association with National Powerlifting Federation and State Body Building Association (SBBA). ....

Surat to host Gujarat's first-ever bodybuilding competition for cops | Surat News

SURAT: The city police have come up with a unique way of spreading the de-addiction message, by providing a platform to youths to flex their muscles, literally. The Diamond city will host Gujarat’s first-ever state-level bodybuilding competition for cops, Mr Police, from March 6-7.
Along with the Mr Police competition, the city police will organize a state-level Mr Gujarat bodybuilding championship and also a powerlifting competition for fitness enthusiasts across the state. The events will be held at Dayalji Ashram, Majura Gate and police parade ground in Athwalines. This is the first time that the city police department will be organizing such events. The registration process for the competitions has already begun. ....
