A college principal and 12 assistant professors of the Rajendra College in Chhapra of Saran district in Bihar have been suspended for group dance on singer Sapna Choudhury’s item songs in a college function organised to celebrate the birth anniversary of first President of India Rajendra Prasad on December 3.
Those suspended have been asked to reply within two weeks as to why departmental proceedings should not be initiated against them for their “gross misconduct”. ....

13 Bihar professors suspended for 'dancing in a vulgar manner' at public event

Patna: Thirteen professors have been placed under suspension in Bihar after they were found dancing in a vulgar manner at a public event organised to celebrate the birth anniversary of India’s first President Dr Rajendra Prasad.
The cultural function had been organised by the Rajendra College at Chapra in Saran district in December last year to mark the birth anniversary of Prasad. Reports said while the event was coming to a close, the College principal Dr Pramendra Ranjan Singh and some professors asked that folk singer Sapna Chaudhary’s popular songs be played.
The principal and 12 college professors then jumped on to the stage and danced. A video of this dance was uploaded on social media by a member of the audience. ....

The incident of group dance by the college principal and a dozen of assistant professors, four of them women, took place on December 3, 2020 on the occasion of Dr Rajendra Prasad ’s birthday.
PATNA: In a bizarre case, the principal and 12 assistant professors, four of them women, of Chhapra-based famed Rajendra College have been suspended for joining a ‘group dance’ on the tune of Haryanvi dancer Sapna Choudhary’s famous song ‘Teri Aakhya Ka Yo Kajal’ and some other item songs during a college function organized to celebrate the birth anniversary of country’s first President Dr Rajendra Prasad.
As it is clear from its name, the college is named after the country’s first President. ....
