July 7, 2021 · 0 Comments The Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police would like to inform the local residents about targeted car thefts involving Lexus Sport Utility Vehicles (SUV). “In the last week, officers responded to three reports of Lexus SUVs and one Toyota SUV being stolen from residential driveways in the Southfields neighbourhood in the Town of Caledon,” say Police. The first incident took place on Newhouse Boulevard sometime overnight between June 24 and June 25. In the second occurrence, the vehicle was stolen from Gentle Fox Drive on June 29, at approximately 1:35 a.m. The third Lexus SUV was stolen from a residential driveway on Bonnieglen Farm Boulevard sometime overnight between June 28 and June 29. ....
April 1, 2021 · 0 Comments On March 29, at approximately 1:13 a.m., officers from the Caledon Detachment of the OPP, along with Caledon Fire responded to a vehicle fire on Healey Road in the Town of Caledon. Once the fire was extinguished, a deceased person was located inside the vehicle. Caledon OPP, the Coroner’s Office and the Ontario Fire Marshall are investigating the cause of death. A post mortem is scheduled at the Centre of Forensic Sciences (CFS) in Toronto. Healey Road was closed between Airport and Innis Lake Roads from approximately 1:25 a.m. to 10 a.m. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call Caledon OPP at 905-284-2241 or toll-free at 1-888-310-1122. ....

(Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) Campaign is a road safety initiative that has taken numerous impaired drivers off Caledon roadways as well as educated motorists about the dangers of driving impaired – by alcohol or drugs. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Festive R.I.D.E. Campaign ran from November 26, 2020 to January 3, 2021. Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the OPP have: Participated in 155 RIDE events; Charged 18 drivers with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, and Issued 10 warn-range (3, 7 or 30-day) driver’s licence suspensions.
