ELKINS Newly elected Elkins Mayor Jerry Marco capped off his first week on the job Friday after being sworn into office Wednesday evening following the Elkins City Council meeting at the Phil Gainer Community Center.
Marco, whose first official day as mayor was Thursday, said he spent most of his first two days organizing his office.
“This week I was just getting settled in, trying to arrange the office a little bit, and reading up on some of the strategic plans and things like that,” Marco said. “For the most part it went really well.”
Marco said there are numerous things he wanted to accomplish as mayor, and he said better pay for the city’s street-level employees is first on his list of things to tackle. ....
