Strong southerly breezes overnight kept our local temperatures much warmer than normal overnight. The average low temperature in New Phila around this time of the year is 27°. The
coldest spot this morning was in the Sugarcreek area with 54°. The morning low at the airport was 63° – or 36° warmer than normal.
BACKYARD MORNING LOWS AROUND THE VALLEY
Isolated showers are possible this morning due to increasing moisture with an approaching cold front. Dry air close to the surface will limit most of the morning to sprinkles or light showers. Thickening cloud cover will put a lid on temperatures today. Most locations will see afternoon highs in the mid-60s.

Yesterday’s official high temperature of 65° in New Phila made it the warmest day of 2021 so far. Today will be a few degrees warmer with most neighborhoods reaching the upper-60s today. A few spots could even reach the low-70s.
South winds will also increase this afternoon and it will get a bit breezy in the Valley today. Gusts could be as high as 30 mph at times. Otherwise, skies will be mostly sunny this morning with increasing clouds this afternoon and evening.
Chances for rain will increase after midnight as a slow-moving cold front approaches east-central Ohio. Rain odds locally will start out low Thursday morning and slowly increase. Light rain will be likely in the afternoon as moisture increases ahead of the front.
