Transport Ministry gets approval to open up additional industry vaccination centres

ISKANDAR PUTERI: The Transport Ministry has obtained approval from the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) to open additional industry vaccination centres (PPVIN).
Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong said presently, there were six PPVIN operating throughout the country to support the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme.
“The first PPVIN at Port Klang for the maritime sector and the second PPVIN at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) for the aviation transport sector will benefit a total of 32,243 recipients.
“Three more facilities for the land public transport sector are also opened at Putra Heights LRT station, KL Sentral, and Cheras Selatan Rapid Bus Complex involving 6,512 rail and bus service workers from Prasarana Malaysia Berhad, MRT Corp, KTMB and ERL,” he added. ....

KL Sentral industry PPV opens for railway workforce

PETALING JAYA: About 1,451 employees of Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) will benefit from the newly opened KL Sentral industry vaccination centre (PPV), says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.
The Transport Minister said the industry PPV would also benefit KTMB’s subsidiaries Multimodal Freight Sdn Bhd and KTM Distribution as well as 390 employees of ERL and ERL Maintenance Support Sdn Bhd.
“They are largely frontline staff who have yet to receive their first vaccine dose.
“The KTMB staff who will be vaccinated at this industry PPV are those stationed along its corridor from Tanjung Malim to Gemas. ....
