The Wilkes Sheriff’s Office is investigating following a body being found Monday afternoon in woods off dead end Parks Ridge Road, which is off Fishing Creek Road in the Antioch community east of North Wilkesboro.
Little information has been released, except that it was the body of a woman. Wilkes Sheriff’s Office deputies had Parks Ridge Road blocked near the end of the road late Monday afternoon. The vehicles of deputies and civilians were parked along the road at that point.
According to social media, a woman in her 30s from that area of Wilkes became missing within the last week. ....
