Human remains found in Miller County woods
TUSCUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Human remains were found Monday in a wooded area of Miller County.
Sheriff s deputies were called to the area a little after 3 p.m. on a report of human bones found in the woods, the Miller County Sheriff s Office said in a news release. The deputies then found skeletal remains.
The person s age, gender, how they died and how long they had been in the woods was not known Tuesday, the sheriff s office said. The body was sent to the Boone County Medical Examiner s Office, the sheriff s office said.
More information will be released after the body is identified and next of kin are notified, the sheriff s office said. ....

This is a compilation of reports released by the Pettis County Sheriff s Office:
On Sunday around 3:30 a.m., Pettis County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 2800 block of Meadowood Drive. The driver, Gabriella Pascual was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without a valid license. During the stop, the rear passenger, identified as Kayla L. Leach, took off running from the vehicle. She reportedly dropped several items on the ground as she ran. Deputies submitted charges of resisting arrest and possession of marijuana.
 
An autopsy was conducted on a Pettis County Jail inmate who was found unresponsive in his cell Dec. 7. Preliminary results of the autopsy, conducted at the Boone County Medical Examiner s Office in Columbia, discovered that James Smith, Jr., died from aterioscolerosis, thrombosis and aging myocardial infarction. Smith also had a large blood clot in one of his coronary arteries. A final pathology report is expected to take 16 to 20 weeks to be ....
