BEDMINSTER TWP. – An early-morning fire destroyed a storage shed on a farm property on Larger Cross Road on Friday, Dec. 11, but was contained fairly quickly.
A few chickens in a nearby coop were killed in the incident, according to Far Hills-Bedminster Fire Department Chief Matt Draheim, but no other animals were injured.
The cause of the fire is undetermined.
“There was nothing really evident that pointed to what started it,’’ Chief Draheim said. “Police are doing their due diligence but nothing indicated any foul play or anything like that.’’
The fire was reported at about 6 a.m. by a neighbor who saw it from a distance, he said. It was on a residential property – part of the farm estates in the area. The owners have not been identified. ....
