BANNU: The elders of Janikhel tribe ended their protest sit-in after the district administration accepted all their demands on Wednesday.
Muneeb, a resident of Hindikhel and a personnel of Frontier Corps in Balochistan, who had come on leave to his home, was martyred by militants a few days back.
Soon after the incident, the elders of Janikhel tribe led by Malik Moveez Khan and others staged a protest sit-in along with the body of the personnel at Mandi area in Janikhel and refused to bury the corpse. ....

BANNU: The elders of Bannu on Wednesday asked the district administration and law enforcing agencies to take appropriate steps for the protection of people or else they would launch a protest movement against the worsening law and order situation in the district.
Speaking at press conference here, Irfan Pirzada advocate, Shabniaz Khan, Nazir Zaman Khan, Imran and others said that first four skilled women workers were martyred in Waziristan, then bodies of four teenagers were recovered in Janikhel and now the bodies of three more youths were found.
They said that the security agencies, police and district administration had failed to provide protection to the people and killing, disappearance cases and kidnapping had become order of the day. They said that it was ironic that police even cannot protect themselves as several police personnel were martyred in a short span of time. ....

WANA: A Grand Jirga of elders of Zalikhel Wazir tribes on Saturday announced to raise 3,000 armed lashkar and threatened to attack police stations if the arrested maliks and elders were not released forthwith.
Speaking at the Grand Jirga held in Wana, the headquarters of South Waziristan tribal district, Malik Noor Ali Karamzkhel, Malik Sherin Jan, Malik Muhammad Aslam, Malik Mirdil, Malik Gulazi and Malik Jangwali alleged that the district administration and police had miserably failed to maintain law and order.
They said that the peaceful environment in South Waziristan district was intentionally being sabotaged at the behest of certain elements, which they termed a shameful act on their part. ....
