The Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Most Rev Callistus Onaga, on Thursday, described the attacks on his house and Holy Ghost Cathedral by supporters of Rev Fr. Ejike Mbaka as sacrilegious.
Onaga said that by the attack the holy altar of sacrifice had been desecrated.
Angry supporters of Mbaka on Wednesday visited the Bishop’s Court and Holy Ghost Cathedral with violence after Mbaka’s followers declared him missing barely 24 hours he was summoned to a meeting by the bishop.
Mbaka, the Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Nigeria, later appeared and addressed his followers saying he would have been kept incommunicado by those he that held him but for their protest. ....

Hours after the Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu State, Rev Father Ejike Mbaka, resurfaced on Wednesday after being incommunicado, the Catholic Diocese of Enugu suspended the controversial cleric for one month.
SaharaReporters learnt from sources in the Catholic Diocese that the Reverend Father was suspended not because of his political missiles towards the Muhammadu Buhari government.

A source stated that Mbaka was suspended rather for allegedly inciting his congregation to lead a protest and vandalising the residence of the Enugu Catholic Bishop, Most Rev Callistus Onaga and for showing support for the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra and its leader, Nnamdi Kanu. ....

Man in the news, Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka has disclosed that his 24 hours ‘disappearance’ was an incarceration by the Enugu Catholic Bishop, Most Rev Callistus Onaga, whom he accused of conniving with others to detain him because he spoke favourably about the leader of the Indigenous people of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
Mbaka said he was only released because the adoration faithful protested his unexplained disappeance.
Mbaka who spoke late on Wednesday at his adoration ground after regaining freedom, practically accused the authorities of the Enugu Catholic Diocese of Mastermind.
He said he was kept incommunicado by the Bishop, whom he further alleged planned to keep him for 30 days. ....
